Triple J radio has been featuring a new album by a young man named Sufjian Stevens. He’s from New York, plays over 20 different instruments on the release and most importantly has put out an amazing, provocative and enjoyable record.
The album is entitled Illinois. He’s planning on releasing an album for every state in the union. Steven is one of those over-achievers that just makes you sick but he nails it! He’s got a sort of Velvet Underground, Ryan Adams, Flaming Lips kinda thing happening but it really is in a class of its own.
I haven’t been this excited about an album in quite some time and think that you should go out and buy it right now.
